The story
Inspired by the ancient stone structures of the desert. In the 1920s, Royal Air Force pilots crossing the Middle East noticed something extraordinary across the landscapes of Syria, eastern Jordan and Saudi Arabia: giant stone structures, like carved wheels, visible only from the sky. More than 400 previously undocumented "gates" have since been uncovered using new technologies.
They may have been hunting traps used by nomadic tribes, or tombs. These structures are found in the Black Desert across Syria, eastern Jordan and Saudi Arabia, and are believed to be up to 9,000 years old.
